Need help modding XBOX 360!!

OK i am new to xbox system as i have been using PS3 and i deceided t buy 360 few weeks ago ... my 360 is one month old and i want to play backups on it...

Could someone please tell me the following things:
* Do i need to buy anything? if yes, what?
* i have been looking at other guides and users are saying philips drives etc etc i am lost cause i don't know what type of drive my 360 uses....
* I have read the guides but i am confused cause at the moment i don't really have any informaiton on the console so i hope you can give me more information that i have not asked above and which i need to know...

Look at the Utlimate Sticky and fine the 2008 textbook, it has all the answers.
If you just bought ur xbox odds are you got a liteon drive and you cant mod that yet, so your choices are swap out the drive with another or wait till after christmas when c4eva releases the new solution to modding the liteon
