3.1e softmod advice

my wii has 3.1e firmware what is my best way to try the softmod I don't have a copy off The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess So can I update to try the softmod or is it better to get a copy of Twilight Princess and do it

Since you're on 3.1 you can use the homebrew channel installer disk to install the homebrew channel. Firmware 3.3 blocked the disk but you can still use it.

Once you have homebrew channel installed just follow the guides on installing a custom IOS and using the backup launcher.

You have to have both 3.2 or earlier and a Modchip to use the HBC ISO installer. If you don't have a Modchip then you will need to use the TP hack.

Do you have a Modchip installed? If not then you can not use the installer disc. You will need to use the TP hack and the installer boot.dol file.
