Hey guys,

Very new to the Wii thing and we bought it brand new pre modded.

The Wii is working, i can play Wii Sports and it does read copied games fine as we had a couple of samples at the store before leaving. I borrowed a couple of games from a friend to put the system through it paces as i have a 90 day warranty with the store i bought it from.

The issue i had is one of the games gave me a can not read error so i ejected the disk and then it said to put the game disk back in but could not it was like it was still in ejection mode? Turned the system off and back on again and it took the disk fine.

Again later one i ejected one disk and went to put a new one in and it would not take it i hit the ejection button again and i heard the drive going and then i was able to put the new disk in.

Is the Wii like a computer Rom where you have to push the button once to open and then again to close? Or could there be something wrong with my Wii?

no, your wii is not like your traditional computer cd drive drive, it is a slot drive. The eject button only ejects the drive. It automatically senses cd's when you place them in it. I think there is something wrong with your wii. I would not recommend opening the drive to fix it, because there are lots of small pieces, and if you don't know what your doing, then you probably will break it. My friend did that and had to buy another cd drive to replace it.

Yea i am not sure what it could be... does not happen all the time just seems to eject with no issues however sometimes i cant put a new DVD back in right away. Some times i have to just turn it off and back on again and i can hear the drive reseating i guess.. and it accepts a DVD with no issues.

Make sure both cables are fully seated into their respective connectors on the drive. I just had this problem and the wired cable wasn't seated properly.

Mod your gaming console today!
