New xbox, banned HDD?

Hello,
At the moment I have an Xbox 360 wich has been banned for about 1.5 year. I want to play on Xbox Live so thats why im buying another sysem, an arcade one to be exact.
Is it possible to use the HDD from the banned console and use it on the new unmodded Arcade Xbox?'
Ive been searching but I couldnt find a clear answer.

yes its possible. the HD doesnt get banned, so it would have no affect on the new console. did this with mine when i got banned, as well as with my bros and a friends.

hey wabashman sorry if this is a noob question. i know the HDD doesnt get banned itself but does it hold any info that could lead to a ban on a different console.
In my situation i do not play onlive at my home or do i ever have it connected to ethernet. so i play any backup no matter if it is stealthed or not(i try to get all stealths but sometimes cant). sometimes i will go to a friends or family and i will play on live there, but when i do this i make sure to only play stealthed backups. but i started thinking since i have played bad rips on this system and HDD is it possible to get banned from playing nonstealhed bad rips when offline due to any info stored in the hdd. I guess now that i think about it the answer is no since if that was the case u would be banned when switching HDD to a diff console, but i just typed all this stuff so might as well get verification :)

i believe the info is stored on the console itself, otherwise as you stated any new 360 could be banned and we could possibly be able to find that certain spot on the HD and alter the information to show that we havent played any burnt games.

damn then that means u can play one bad backup offline and then when u go online it will send that info? it seems that the console itself only has limited memory onboard so after so long maybe the data is cleared or older logs pushed out to make room for newer ones.

Best bet if that were the case is use the originals online not the copies,no any game you have & decide to go online with use an original, just to be safe you could delete any saves etc then create a new profile then go online,update it,hopefully all will be fine,obviously it would be best to have two consoles,one flashed,one not

I doubt red flags would ever be cleared from the memory. The console logs every game that you play, it's not just the hdd that does it. I'm sure there's more than enough space to store this information unless you have played over 100 different xbox 360 games on your console. Even then it is more likely that the information is still on the console. It could be a few bytes per note and think if they have 1gb reserved for the information. So figuring about 40 bytes per note (which is more than generous) it would take 26,843,545 notes to fill that 1gb of space.
Some people believe clearing the cache makes a difference. If they play a backup offline, before they reconnect they clear the cache. I don't think it really makes a difference but still it's a good precaution to take. Anyway it all goes back to the reason why people are banned, and there are countless threads covering that.

You can use the hdd on any console. It's the console that gets banned, not the hdd.

use the hdd on the new console, the hdd has no effect.
there is no need in formating the drive either, just stick it on your new console and have fun. :)

I recently got booted off live just before the update was released my 360 was chipped with a NME v2 chip. (please note no games were played online for a few months before i got banned) I purchased a new xbox 360. Chucked my harddrive on and away i went playing games with no problems so far. No changes to my gamer points i have even played games offline on my chipped console and have gained acheivments. And when i have reverted back to my new console my gamer score has updated with the new achievments and gamer points.
So my advice is buy 2 consoles and keep one as an original for playing online and firmware the other to play ya backups offline. And if u really like a game then buy the original to play online as we all know there are more shit games out there than good. This way you only buy the ones which are worth it.

I also forgot to say that my firmware modded console is still live it even updated when the upgrade came out which iam surprised at.This console is about 3 years old....but again i dont really go on xbox live that much with it....think i have been very lucky with this one

1gb is way too high.. i know u were just using as an example but the onboard memory before the jasper units with the added memory was like 64mb wasnt it, thats small. but ur theory is sound

It's not worth it in my opinion. I went through the modded original xbox scene and had hundreds of xbox games on disc and on a hard drive in the console and I really never played them(copied games) all that much(just a hobby collecting the games). I discovered that the only games I wanted were the good online games. Not worth the risk of being banned IMO.

my 9yr old son has scratched around 4 games in the last year that was so bad they would not play anymore.
at 60 bucks x 4 = $240.00 and i believe you can pick up a console for $200.00.
you finish the math.
im glad those were backup games!!!

I can see your point and I agree to some extent but I only play games that have good online play. If I can't play it online and have a good competitive game I won't even buy it. That being said, you're risking the abilty to play games online when you moddify the firmware in your drive. You are then stuck with an xbox360 that can't connect to xbox live. Microsoft knows about the modifications that are done and are just toying with you guys.They make it hard enough that everyone won't do it and ban enough people to scare you a little without sending you all to a new console or PC.

well you say they are toying with us, hell they have been toying with me for close to three years and i look forward to another year or two.
4 consoles and only one banned in three years and that was my first one and i was not stealth patching my games.
by the way, i put about 60 combined hours on live each and every week.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!
