hey yall..ive been playing this xbox for some time now and its been giving me a error code 5..i know it means hd unlock or locked..i know its an executinor dashboard...im needing help fixing this error code..how do i and what do i need,can someone point me in right direction please....it was given to me by friend long time ago works good besides the code.has a toggle switch on front??i use to get it working again by unpluging it and messing with cord but no luck this time,and way to fix this or update das etc etc,has games on hd and will i lose them in any way..please helppppppp
just boot a slayer or aid disc (torrent) directly from your chip. put disc in, let xbox boot and you can lock your drive again. if you cannot boot from your chip (either you messed your chip up or the wiring got desoldered), then you have to build the eeprom reader.
this all assumes that you never backed up your eeprom key, if you backed that up you can always use the hdm tutorial to rebuild your hard drive. but having a chip in it, booting up a slayer/aid disc is the least hassle (once again assuming your chip still works). you can use the switch to activate the chip, it either boots from the ms bios or from the chip's modded bios. just try different positions of the switch.
but, since a chip will let you boot a unlocked drive, and you claim you cannot (meaning it always boots with error 5==> unlocked hd) your chip might not be working (correctly) anymore! if that is the case, getting the eeprom to lock it again is your only hope
look for the tutorials using the search button. it isn't that hard to find it if you look for them.
