xvid playback too fast

hiya ppl.

ok i just started using the dvd to xvid thingy so im quite new to all this. anyways i used the dvd to xvid guide http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/copy_dvd_to_xvid.cfm

after completing all the steps i playback the video on MP9 but the video is too fast. looks like somone is fastforwarding it. but the audio is being played at a normal rate. also i tried playing in the divx player 5.11 , now the video playback is normal but the audio is all messed up. i cant hear a word, instead it sounds like scratches on a blackboard.

ive got all the codecs and thingys, i think atleast i have them all. so whats wrong? any help is appreciated
