I try reformat the HDD with Sony's HDD Utility Disc via PS2. Nothing happened. Then via external HDD kit, I try to reformat the HDD using winhiip. Again, nothing happened. By the way, I am aware that winhiip and Sony Utility Disc format a HDD differently from one another (and stores different master boot record, I assume). But the real problem is, my PC and PS2 does not detects the HDD anymore. The last thing I did to it was format it using winhiip, then installed some games onto it. It worked, but a few months later, I decide to reformat it back for use as a HUGE memory card. To my dissapointment, it no longer detect. I was thinking about performing a low-level format but I'm not so sure this is the best choice. Also, what's with this proprietary firmware on the Official Sony HDD that I hear about? If in case I did deleted this "firmware", is there a way to reinstall? I just want to be able to get my PC and PS2 to recognize the HDD again. If anyone can help me out, that'll be awesome.
By the way, these are all the jumper settings that I've tried and none of it seems to work:

If the files did not help in the other thread here, you can try this method to get your PC to recognize the hdd again.
This is a quote from another forum.
"When you format with WINHIIP your pc wont recognize the HDD making it almost impossible to use the HDD for anything other than Toxicos or ps2 in that matter.
but if you go to CONTROL PANEL, click ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, then click COMPUTER MANAGMENT followed by STORAGE, click the DISK MANAGMENT LOCAL option and a list of drives will come up.
2 of the drives will have nothing on them if you click the largest one and click ADD PARTITION then follow the instructions it will re-format it with NTFS so you can use it with windows or even recover some lost files with such programs as GET DATA BACK NTFS."
