freezes then i get e79 any help!!!!

ok so i turn on the 360 it freezes i reboot a couple of times and eventally get e79 now i know this could be possible problem with hdd or connection but i was also told it may be an update issue has anyone had this problem and cured it any help would be appreciated

If you still get the error after removing the dvd drive its most likely just like the 3rrod issue, you have to get it sorted by microsoft if its still under warranty, if not you can attempt the x-clamp replacement mod.

since the post i modded the clamps as i have done may of these repairs and it didn't cure it know the error reads e71 dash update error so i tried the reset codes but no change it freezes then e71 any suggestions
(i no i did nothing wrong as i can do the mod eyes closed iv'e done that many)

Have you tried overheating the box by removing the fans and letting it give you 2 red lights?

i always reheat but to the point of two red lights as this indicates that the cpu as overheated or are u simply saying that the problem may lay in the cpu itself maybe a cold or bridged joint?

Its possible that you have a few cold joints/detached solder connections, depending on whether the motherboard in your 360 has warped or not. Overheating some 360's allows them to work temporarily, but you've already got 2 red lights and that hasnt worked for you, given that youve tried the x-clamp and it hasnt solved the problem theres not much you can do apart from getting it fixed by a pro or getting the gpu reballed.
