I ordered magic keys from modchip.ca and sm 3.6 to use with my 79000. I'm not going to mess with the tool that has to be put towards the back through the crack which I heard is hard to get in there.

I don't mind opening my ps2 and putting that plastic tab in there instead. Other that is method + sm 3.6 a good option to play backups/imports ? I don't have to keep my lid up while playing right ?

My other question is if I need to increase TOC to play a bigger TOC game I would have to use the DVDloader with sm. My question is do I burn the DVDloader image to a cd+r or dvd+r cause I think I read somewhere you burn it to a cd+r.

thanks

You may not even need to cover that sensor with the plastic tab.
Some 79000 models have the sensor, some don't.

Once you block the sensor near the RESET button, and the disc brake, put in a disk, turn on the ps2. Open the lid and if the disc is still spinning, you don't need to block the sensor inside.

You would burn dvdloader.iso to a DVD

It is rare that you will need to do this as most games with a High TOC can be rebuilt using Gnie's Xpert tool.
