Anybody had success with MTR (Mac the Ripper)? Every time I try Pineapple Express w/ MTR, during the initial scan, MTR crashes. I've tried this a dozen times and after a while I couldn't eject the disk, not even with disk utility. Had to restart to eject.

Hi,
None of the regulars to my knowledge use magic ripper.
We use either anydvd or dvd fab (HD) as our main ripping engines.

I'd like to say that DVDShrink 3.2 plus AnyDVD 6.4.7.9 works well on any movie my friends have tried including Pineapple Express. The only issue that came up though is that DVD Shrink for some reason was unable to compress the 6.5 gig DVD to under 4.5 gigs.
Even when they tried to compress just the movie it still wouldn't compress below the magic number for a single layer DVD-R. Anybody else run into this issue and know why it occurs?

I'm running Pineapple thru Fab now as it was over anything I could copy using Shrink. Whats the deal as I can't remember seeing anything this long B/4?
Also does anyone have the old Scuba Pete setup instructions for DVD Shrink 3.2 or anyone else's instructions for 3.2? I just downloaded it to my new computer and can?t find my copy of the setup guidelines from long ago. Thanks for any help

I have anydvd and shrink on my pc and burn on my mac using toast 8. I am getting errors and it will not burn the ts files says some kind of error....any ideas?
Suggestion: Mac users should have a separate area as more and more people are using Mac... pls :) MTR has not worked for me for a bit...they are slower than slysoft.
As for the error is there free copies of these other dycrypters out there to assist?
Im young I'll Adjust...I Hope

We have a couple of movie-related Mac forums here but unfortunately some people don't notice :)

DvdFab's latest is 5.2.3.2
http://dvdfab.com/download.htm
And it should have zero problems with this movie. What kind of problem are you having with it? Please, be specific.

Huh.
Not nearly as 'specific' as i was hoping for. Until you're able to provide more adequate information --what kind of error, when does it occur, etc -- i'm afraid any help able to be given will be limited at best.
EDIT: and i'm assuming you meant version 5.2.3.0

maybe i am way late on this but i had problems making a copy with anydvd and clone dvd so i ended up just making a perfect1:1 .iso file with imgburn and then burned that using imgburn to a DVD+R DL and it worked prefect 1:1 copy which surprised me actually as i didnt think it would work and i just tried for the hell of it.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

I used my usual method, DVDFab followed by DVD Rebuilder (HC Encoder) for excellent results.

The programs that I have are:
dvdshrink
anydvd
and nero
usually i use shrink to open the file and compress it..then i use nero to burn it...
with pineapple express, during the compression, i'm getting the error message:
"dvd-video files reallocation failed"
That's a new one for me..I'd prefer to find a work around with the software I have...
Can anybody offer any advice here?
'Thanks!

Yes, try some of the successfull methods listed in this thread. DvdFab HD Decrypter (free) to rip then proceed with Shrink, and burn as normal.
Or AnyDVD (21 day free trial) then proceed with Shrink and burn as normal.

"SUCCESS?. I just backed up the one disk Extended Version 112 Min. long Using Ripit4me 1.7.1.0 With DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and had it rip it to a file in a known location and backed up the ripped file with DVD Shrink to a 3.44 G file and put it on A 4.7 G DVD-R with Nero 9. On DVD Decrypter I set everything to default then in the "general" tab change, "Removal method" from normal to "Aggressive", in "File Mode "tick" "Remove PUO's". For ripping in the "ISO Read Mode?, ?TICK" "remove PUO's there also. In the CSS tab, under "CSS Cracking method", chose "Brute force ->I/O Key Exchange" and "on Faliure" chose "yes"...Important: In the I/O tab, in the bottom right' "tick" the box witch says, "Ignore Read Errors" and set read retries to 3. And I ripped it in File Mode witch was the default that Ripit4me chose. Then it opened DVD Shrink then it analyzed it and I backed it up to a file where I new the location and put it on a 4.7 G DVD-R with Nero 9.
