Download to HardDrive and play without CD?

The new Xbox DLX update allows you to download games to your Hard Drive, yeah its a nice alternative to backup, but you still need the CD just to verify the game is in.

Apparently leaving a CD in the Xbox 360 and moving it likely causes it to destroy the CD. Yeah they have warnings, but everyone makes mistakes.

I guess this destroyed the data, but it still recognized the game. I used a friends copy to download to the hard drive and then used my scratched CD to verify the game is legit.

Since there is plenty on this forum on downloading a driver and burning a CD, is there any way to do something similar like the mentioned scenario without a CD to play?

From my understanding, the Xbox doesn't use the CD for anything but to recognize the game if playing from the hard drive. Anyway that I wouldn't need the CD...without going through the current way?
