Xbox HD is acting weird

I just replaced my xbox HD with a 160 GB Maxtor (Model:LO1P160). Anyway, i just locked it so i could play xbox live, and now when i got to access a game on evox, the game loads up and then it sounds like the xbox reboots without actually turning off. Could i have partitioned it wrong?
