hi guys,
my neice jumped on my psp and now the screen is all cracked.
now i can order a new screen but how do i know that i havent knackered more than just the screen?

when i power up i cant see anything but can hear the music that usually plays when the psp starts.

however when i power down i have to hold the switch up for 11-12 seconds and it shuts with a soft 'pop'. is this normal?

also im not sure if this has always been the case. but the umd case vibrates queit a bit. but this might just be paranoya or it might have always been like that.

any help will be mch appreciated,

EDIT: powering off takes exactly 10 seconds. im sure thats normal. now i'm just worried about the pop.
can i buy the cable to connect it up to my tv, will that show me if the psp works fine?

I believe that 'pop' sound you hear after holding the power for 10 seconds is normal as you are 'forcing' the psp to shutdown.

As for the UMD vibrating, i dont think that is normal. Only a whirring sound should be heard on a normal psp.

i would think its just the screen. But then again, the UMD needs to be tested to find any faults.

Can you navigate through the XMB even though you cannot see whats happening? If yes, estimate where you would access the UMD (if you have the 'ticks' enabled, its easier) and hear if it starts up.

If no, susupect more that just the screen is damaged.

EDIT: You can buy the link for the screen but only if you have a slim psp.
