Will playing region free Xbox360 backups on Xbox live get you banned? I was told by someone that claimed to work for microsoft that Xbox live checks to see if the region code of the disk your playing matches your Xbox console region. He said that although you could play a japanese disk on a US Xbox360 that has had its DVD firmware flashed, it would send up red flags if you played online and would get you banned. Any truth to this? Are region free disks more dangerous to use online than playing backups from my region?

if region free discs got u banned then there would be tons of ppl that are not modded that would be getting banned unfairly. so no that is not true. if it was true then why would they even make region free games?
