I have been using anydvd and dvd shrink to backup dvds for years and was wanting to know if it would be worth it since until Dec 31 2008 I can get free lifetime updates on it and save 20%.

Buy it! It is worth the price even without the 20% off.

Better??? They both have their own merits. Would I give up either of them - make a choice?? No! Once in awhile when you are at war with the forces of encryption it is better to fight back with all the weapons available. I like DVDFab HD Decrypter too. There are lots of free weapons available also. Your question was is it worth it? Since you don't have to give up DVD Shrink and it is only money, it is worth it. Now if you are going to stop making backups, it's a waste of money. I like Clone2DVD because you can preview and remove some of the extra stuff you don't want. I know many other programs will let you do this too. Is it much better "then" dvd shrink ?? In some ways yes, for simple stuff, no! It does make it easier to make multiple backups with Clone - but that's a touchy subject for copy right reasons. I use Clone for a small business I have making hundreds of DVD's for a nutrition rep in the area who distributes DVD promotional discs for doctors that he makes in his studio. If your on a tight budget - quit buying DVD's and invest in something safe for retirement.

Hi,
I recently purchased Anydvd (after listening to advice here at AD from my friends)
I could not have made a better choice.
While I have used DVD FAB HD, I prefer Anydvd.
The best opportunity is now to make the purchase.
Good luck and
Merry Christmas
Jo

Will buy it at midnight once my direct deposit comes in. I am already a proud owner of AnyDVD and Clonedvd Mobile, I thought I would never need clonedvd but I don't like having to use anydvd ripper to process some newer disks then run them through shrink.

I thought the same thing and ended up buying it as well. It's well worth it, although, my program of choice is DVDFabPlatinum. Ehhh to each their own. You won't be disappointed!
Cheers!!

Hi dayana,
Although I have used both (I finally purchased Anydvd), I feel Anydvd seems to back up more movies better and makes it easier for the editing programs to function. My friend endo, here at AD, tells me that Anydvd makes cleaner back ups than Dvd Fab.
Hope this helps,
Jo

I'm of the opinion that if you are remotely interested in Anydvd/Clonedvd that now is the best time to purchase. I don't think you will regret it.
Some assembly required.
