Hello all Afterdawn members,

I have i problem hope you will help me out. thanks

I was working with Smartbuy media (x8) and these media are out of stock cause same media Smartbuy media(x16) are in the country so i pick the x16 media since these are from same media brand.
But Problems begin here i always burn dvds with x4 speed (on my x8 media dvds)and i burnt the dvd (x16 media NEW) at x4 as usual when tryed to play on my dvd the videos is all skiping squares appear too :|

Aswell when i back up a playstation.2 and burn it with x4 the game will not be good Skips etc

Then i tryed burning at x8 the half of the media max speed and it worked well.

My question is, can some one explaine it to me in detail please what speed should i burn etc and whats happening

thanks very much all

BUTINU

burning to slow can be as bad as burning to fast. 8x media is pretty much a thing of the past and 16x rules the market make sure you have the most up to date firmware for your drive/burner burning at 6x to 8x max some burn at 12x without problems and using better media would be a wise idea also like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim

I'm a DVD+R ==> DVD-ROM person, been using YUDEN, Verbs, SONY and Maxell (MIJ) and booktype all of my backups to DVD-ROM for ages and I haven't experienced any issue.

Your best choice is to go with the famous YUDEN (DVD+R) and VERBs (DVD+R) and booktype to DVD-ROM.

Fact is all original DVD (movies) and PS2 games are compressed as DVD-ROM, therefore it (they) can play in any stand alone DVD players, PS2 and PS3 consoles.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
