Need some friendly advice if poss.
Basically i am hoping to store divx/xvid films etc to play on this media player.
All i need to know is there a fairly good software to convert files to divx/xvid/avi that will work flawlessly in this media player.
Problem i have had in the past is that even if i download avi/divx/xvid movies they don't always work on divX /media players.
They sometimes go out of sync or even have no picture!
Attached link to show you what media player i've got...

Many thanks for taking a look and given me some ideas.

The link doesn't work(incomplete)
AutoGk or FairUse Wizard will convert your videos to AVI(divx)

Broken link.
I use Aiseesoft Total Video Converter, it lets you convert to virtually any kind of video format.

I would try to find some customer reviews before buying this basically no-name product.

If you have a nice TV, the outputs are rather limited.

Composite video + stereo audio channels S-Video

For a few bucks more you could get a much more versatile product that can also handle almost any file, including HD files.

Except for the HD part, an old XBOX with XBMC beats any player when it comes to file type versatility/price :)!

Soft modding and/or hot swapping hard drives is not for the feint of heart.

That's what I thought, especially since I had never played with an XBOX before, but it turned out to be rather simple. It does have a learning curve, but is not rocket science.
My new discovered feature for XBMC- YouTube and Hulu on my TV!
