I'm having trouble getting my PS2 to read disks.

Now before you copy and paste a ps2 repair guide or tell me to do a search please hear me out.

I don't know exactly what caused it to stop reading disks because my sister was using it at the time, the only thing I can get out of her is that she was putting the disk in normally and it didn't work.

The problem now is...the ps2 detects the disk fine in the browser, however when it tries to load the disk it stops at the black screen right after the ps2 menu. No error messages, nothing. Also the disk stops spinning.

I have followed the PS2 repair guides found around the internet with no luck. So I'm thinking that some component is busted.

The PS2 I have is a NTSC model SCPH-39001 however I also have a fully working PAL PS2 that's SCPH-30004 (unfortunately my TV is NTSC only) would it be possible to use parts from both of them to get one working PS2? and if so could someone point me in the right direction.
