Cannot play patched NTSC iso on PAL legacy wiikey

I have wii key version 1 running on 1.9s (region free set to yes).

Used WiigionFree to patch the NTSC ISO to PAL. Also tried RegionFrii.exe to patcher, and that also didn't work

After burning the patched ISO (4x on Verbatium DVD) the disc is recognised on the Wii, with the game logo appearing on menu.

WHen I click start the get a black screen, and the wii remote switches off (does repond), nor does the Wii. Have to hard restart the wii to get back to menu.

So, is it possible to play NTSC games on legacy wii key - PAL ?

The game I'm trying is ;
Karaoke_Revolution_Presents_American_Idol_Encore_U SA_Wii-DiPLODOCUS (Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol Encore NTSC-U.iso)


Any ideas?

managed to get this game to work using homebrew channel

Follow instructions here to do Twlight hack (need a copy of Zelda and SD card =<2GB)

once you do that then copy homebrew channel folder on SD root (see instructions)

Load your NTSC game (mine were patch as explained above)

GO to hBC and run Gecko and load game, and hey presto!!

This is so sweet, the can play karaoke game on Wii!
