I have a PAL UK wii modded with a D2Pro solderless. I'm having one or two problems and wondered if there was a one stop shop that might provide the info I need to sort things.

I hear stuff like brickblocker, firmware updates and don't have a clue whether they apply to my wii/wii modchip.

I have some backups which work fine, and my original wii sports works fine. But, I also have some backups that don't load and never have, I also have some backups that DID load but now don't, plus more worryingly, I have the wii fit board and an original wii fit game that won't load.

I have no idea what firmware my wii is/was, though I keep hearing about problems with v3.3?

Have a bricked/semi bricked the console??

Please help!

Brickblocker is only needed when running out of region games. If you're playing games from your wii's region you dont have to worry about being bricked by an out of region update so you dont need brickblocker.

Several possible reasons for your problem with disks that never worked.
If you have region override on your D2Pro turned off then attempting to play any our of region game will result in a disk read error and it wont load.
Using low quality DVD disks to burn your games will result in many bad disks (or coasters) Make sure you use good quality media. Verbatum DVD-R is recommended by most.

As for the disks that did work and now do not.
Again, low-quality media could be the problem. In some brands the ink that changes color when you burn the disk and stores the data breaks down over time. And the wii's DVD drive is very picky about its disks. Even small errors that a PC's drive wouldn't notice will result in disk read errors on the wii.
Alternatively, if you had any disks that were trucha signed (or edited in some way) and upgraded your wii's firmware to 3.3 you would find that they no longer worked. You can bypass this problem by installing the homebrew channel and booting the games through gecko os.

You can check your firmware by going into the settings of the wii. And it doesn't sound like you've bricked or semi-bricked your wii. Bricked means it doesn't even start up, and semi-bricking is only caused by running out of region updates. A semi-bricked wii will play games fine, but cannot go online and the wii system menu cannot be accessed.

Many thanks for the reply. I'm using Phillips DVD-R's atm though my latest batch is Verbatims DVD-R. I might try burning on verbatims the ones that have issues. Could I uses DVD decrypter on the Phillips DVD's to make an ISO then use Nero 9 or Alcoholsoft 120% to burn it to a Verbatim?

I can still access the wii 3 pages of settings so I think I'm ok there.

Maybe the wii fit original is faulty? I will go and exchange it
