hi all, santa brought a psp 3000 for my son ,i can put music and photos on it but it won't play a movie, i converted it to psp(mpeg4),when i connect the psp there is no folder for movies or videos i tried making a new folder for movies and i tried just leaving it beside all the other folders and finally i put it in the photos folder,is there a way ?

I don't think the psp3000 should be different but the folder movies go to is MP_ROOT>100MNV01.
Using the psp to format the memory stick should have created this folder for you.
Try that folder and see how it goes. If not at the root of the memory stick there should be a folder called VIDEO you can also try.

thanks for the reply binkie,i did try the root folder but no joy.
will i have to downgrade firmware for this? i know you have to do it for games but i thought movies would be ok.(if so forgive my ignorance!)

What did you use to convert the video to mp4? The psp has certain specs for the video to play (the fine details that I've never looked into)
Here's a free program that has the profile for the psp - guide. Just skip to the 3gp converter bit.

I'd also try reformating (take anything off that you want to keep and don't have a backup of like game saves, music etc) with the psp.

got it working!the problem was i left the smaller file with the movie,thanks to the guide i saw were i went wrong,i used "any dvd converter" it converts most files to most files!.binkie thanks for your help.

oh and if you need a page to download movies already in mp4 format go to removed (note it requies a lot of scrolling down)
