Got the box pvr here. When I go to format the disk I do not get PLAY on the receiver??. I went back, disassemabled the harddisk, How do I set it to master?. The jumper pin I presume is the little white connector, I tried following the explanation on the hard disk, and I still cannot get play to be displayed on the receiver.
Will someone please go through this with me.
Cheers,

Hi
If you have the starview pvr (twin tuner) then on your hard drive there should be some drawings relating to the jumper pin and its master drive pin setting, if not goto the hard drives web site put in its model number and look for drive jumper pin settings and set the H/D to Master, fit it into the S/V PVR make sure red line on the ribbon cable goes next to 4 pin power plug. Run S/V software and format the drive from the PVR's menu system and wait for it to finish formatting, it will take a few minutes, you then need to record something onto it before it will play anything as it will be blank ie nothing at all on it after it format.

One last question please, I have studied this and am still nervous of going wrong... Its a WD2500jb hard drive... it givess me 4 options.. (1)cable select setting (2) slave (3) master with slave present (4)single or master.
I know I will be up and running once I'm confident of making the right jumper setting. Please can you advise on this information.
Cheers.

Hi Bellair,
I've got a 500Gb WD on my SV PVR and 'Master' postion is with jumper removed.
Dont woory if you get the jumper wrong, it won't do any damage, it just won't work in that position.
Good luck.
Steve
