Hi i am on about my third xbox and i have one of the arcade ones with a Benq drive it was working fine then the drive died so i put a new one in about 2months and its all been working perfectyl and turned it on today all of a sudden it starts crashing after playing a couple of seconds, has problems recognisin controllers and sometimes freezes on start up any ideas from anyone

did you carefully remove the warranty sticker so you could return it to microsoft for repair ?? it sounds f*cked

Yeh i have but not sure if i can send it back because the insides of my xbox are not the original ones for the case do you think it would matter is there a serial number on the hardware that should match the casing

yea there is serial numbers all over that xbox, wether they match them up or not is a different story. sounds like early signs of RROD

Eh, from experience i know they only match up the serial number by the usb ports (under the faceplate), the back of the console, and the bottom of the xbox tray. If those 3 match they will attempt to repair the console. I don't know if the dvd drive matters or not. Usually they don't even open them, they'll check the serial numbers and throw it in the pile.

You should try the penny fix and see if that makes any difference.
