Softmodding to WiiKey2?

hi,

i was plannin on doing the twilight softmod for now. but if i dont like the disc load speeds, can i still buy a no-solder chip n install it?

will the wii work fine?

Ya, it wont be a problem. You can softmod and then install a chip or chip then softmod, doesn't matter. The 2 methods have nothing to do with each other so even doing both is fine.

does softmodding install anything permanent to the wii or is everything just installed to the sd card?

Softmodding installs something to boot the backup loader program (either homebrew channel to boot the backup loader from the SD card or a direct backup loader boot channel) and a custom IOS firmware patch.

These can both be removed if you decide you want to, but neither effects the function of the wii otherwise so its not really necessary to remove them if you decide to install a modchip for backups.
