Have to buy new 360 Recommendations?

OK so my 360 is RROD and I've got a temporary fix going by baking my 360(eg what you do after the x-clamp fix or a super towel fix). I had been dealing with the fact that the the 360 sound would randomly cut out on me and would require a restart for awhile.
Anyways i bought the thing at Costco which means i can return it at any time for a full refund. I would just buy a new one their but their out of stock which is overdue. So im thinking i may drop by my local futureshop(i live in Canada for you Americans think of it as a best buy)and buy an arcade after returning my 360 at costco.
My question to you guys is do you think i should wait or buy at futureshop. And if i do buy and futushop what should i be looking for on the box.
Also i have an old Hitachi drive lying around and was thinking of switching it with my benq drive I'm using. If i don't get another 360 with a benq and wind up with a lite-on what do i need to do to switch the drives with 1.5 and not worry about getting banned b/ of the wrong drive in the 360?

It would be easier to just look at the XBOX 360 DVD Drive Database and try to buy one without a Liteon.

I'm in Germany and it takes a while to get things in the mail. However I want to flash a liteon just so I know now to do it. I hate two friends that have them and want them flashed. The only thing I have to buy is the $35 tool right?

yeah, the tool plus the addon that will read the key, but it's worth it. Just tell your two friends you'll do it for them if they'll split the bill of that tool for you. Then you can flash other people's consoles.
