hi
my son is doing my head in
he is bringing his xbox 360 down stairs all the time to connect to the router so he can play live
i was thinking about hard wireing it with a long length of cable to run upstairs so he gets his connection.
can anyone tell me what they call the fitting i need
is is a rj45 on each end of cable

its a cat5 network cable... personally i use cat6 but i doubt it makes any difference..

you can get long ethernet cable runs cheap off monoprice.com ... i use a 100 ft and it works just fine.

did think of wireless but from what i have heard peeps have quite a few problems loosing connection in middle of games

Like Donaldo said just run a Cat5 and call it. That's what I do for the kids (50ft) and works fine.

I never had an issue with wireless.

But yeah, the end of it is a rj45 plug in case you are looking to hardwire it.

You could just buy your own cable and pop a rj45 plug on the end and make your own ethernet cable. Easy enough. cheaper too
