BD-P1500 w/ Standard DVD Taiyo Yuden

My faithful Toshiba DVD player which plays all my Taiyo Yuden media without issues is now dead. I'm left with playing DVDs using my XBOX and I just can't take it anymore (PQ and playback problems). It's now time for me to take the dive and feed my LN52A650 with blu-ray movies.

I'm looking for the perfect balance of price/quality and one of the players I've come across is the Samsung BD-P1500, but it's important for me to find a player that will not give me issues with my previously backed up media, Taiyo Yuden. Does anyone have any experience with this media for standard DVD playback in this player? Anyone have any feedback on this media in general on any blu-ray player, whether or not you've ever had any issues? Any help is appreciated.
