i have a belkin 54mbps wirless network adapter that i plug in the usb port of my desktop pc. then i run the xbox live ethernet cord from my xbox to my ethernet prot in my desktop and try to connect to xblov via sharded connection but get the ip address failed message everytime does anyone know a stpe by step guide for this type of wirless netork adapter

Assuming you installed the software accompanied with the router and followed directions it came with, did you unplug the power from your modem and wait some 10 seconds and then plug the power back in?

my modem provied to us by our service provider is in the kitchen with a direct hook up to our desktop pc their.im using i wireless usb network adapter that i plug into my usb port in my desktop in my room where i pick up our wirless network and all systems are up and running computer wise.im connected to the internet but my xbox will not pick it up for some reason i keep getting ip address failed

Right on...I don't know much about modems and internet...but power cycling my modem usually works like a charm to solve any problems i encounter with any connection problems. But I guess you'd be better off taking advice from someone who does know a thing or two about it.

You have to bridge both the Wireless and the ethernet connections on YOUR pc and then share them.
