Hi guys:
I successfully joint 2 parts of a movie using Vobedit, which does a pretty good job (I checked the results by watching the Vob files 1 by 1. Out of 6 joints I made this way, 6 came PERFECT (100%). The problem is when I created the Ifo files (with Ifoedit). With those files, at the time of watching the movie, randomly (in different form in each movie appears an error=E) sends the image to a different part of the movie (part which you already have seen, or still much ahead of it; ...like an insert or something), which is not in the original Vob video. I know that because, when I saw the E in the movie (I use VLC to see videos), I checked ONLY that particular Vob file of the movie (therefore the ifo-files are not active) where the BRAKE/wrong-insertion occurs in the ifoed movie, THE MISTAKEN PART (E) IS NOT THERE (as is in the original movie), in other words, PLAYS THE NORMAL SEQUENCE OF THE MOVIE. It is only when you watch the movie as a whole (where the ifo files takes command of the situation or becomes active I guess), that at some point, the IMAGE JUMPS TO THE WRONG SCENE (E) as explained above. This happens in 2 out of 3 movies processed by VobEdit & Ifoedit (66% of the cases).
Can somebody tell me what is wrong? Is there any solution? Is there a different program than Ifoedit for creating the ifo files?
I followed 2 diferent procedures:
01) I joint both parts of the movie and Shrink them at the same time with DVDShrink (to 4.37 Gb), only then I REALLY joint the parts with Vobedit, after which I create the ifo files (with Ifoedit) and process the Vob files with FixVTS.
02) I just joint both parts of the movie without shrinking (with VobEdit). When it is done, then I process it with FixVTS (without which DVDShrink can?t open it). Only then I Shrink it with DVDShrink.
Once I detected the problem, I switch to the alternative method without avail.
I?ll be thankful for any advise about how to solve this problem:>(
In running Ifoedit, what I do after I have created the IFO files and before closing Ifoedit, highlight VTS_01_0.IFO then click 'VOB Extras'.
Set the options as shown and 'OK'.
Back in the main window click 'Save'.
The new DVD should load into DVD Shrink for testing.
