Here's the situation:

The Xbox is upstairs in the same room as a desktop computer with wireless internet (Wireless stick that connects to a belkin router in the basement).

What I want to do is plug an ethernet cord into the 360 and the Desktop and use the wireless internet from the Desktop to play live online. I heard it is possible with ICP but I can't find any help with that unless I have direct access with the Desktop computer.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

i think you mean ICS... "Internet Connection Sharing"...

i don't see why it wouldn't be possible with a wireless connection...

when you google "ICS with a wireless connection" it seems a number of places refer to it...

what's the problem

I think that the main thing is that he didn't really know what he was looking for. Hopefully knowing that it is ics should help him out.

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

No I found a couple things that related to what I needed, the problem is they all tell me to go to Control Panel, Network Connections, right click my connection and hit properties, and this is where it's different.

They all have the same screen shot and mine is different. They say go to advanced, and click "allow ics" or something like that but I don't have that option. All I have is the windows firewall thing so I can't figure out how to set up the ics.

my guess would be your clicking on the wrong icon in control panel. with a wireless card in the computer and an on board network card (which you most likely have)

just try it with the other icon

what OS are you using?

Windows XP. If I can't get it working within the next half hour I'll upload a screen shot of what I'm looking at.

That is the exact problem I'm having but no solution was posted. I tried creating a fake dial up connection and the ICS option shows up on the fake dial up properties but still not on the wireless one (real connection).

im pretty sure if you run through the start a home network wizard it gives you the option for internet connection sharing.

If you right-click on your Local Area Connection and go to Properties, then go to Advanced you should see at the bottom a link to start the Networking Wizard that dibe is referring to.

Then following the wizard you should get to:

Hope that helps....

I tried that and it says "Other computers cannot connect to the internet through this computer."
