To backup your saved channels and favourites.
Connect the null modem lead to your PC and box and power up the box.
Open up the stb link.
Setup Comm.
Click Read User Data
The file will be called Factory_Data.txt
There will be 64 blocks to download from the box.
Save it to your desktop and rename it what you want.
_____________________________________________
You can reload the file you have saved on your desktop.
But when you have established a connection with the stb link
Click Write Factory Data and get the saved file from your desktop.
There will be 64 blocks to upload.
Make sure as always to wait for the rapidly flashing light.
________________________________________________________________
Connect the null modem lead to the box and your PC.
Open up the Stblink
Tick ?Maintain User Data?
Select upgrade software
Get the Latest File file from your PC.
From when you see the blocks start to transfer.
It takes 4 mins for the box to be updated.
But make sure you see the led flashing much more quickly than it did when the blocks were transferring. If you leave for even 5 mins it will be OK.
Wait until all the blocks are transferred and WAIT a couple of more minutes for the led to flash much more rapidly than it did when you could visibly see when the blocks were transferring.
Unplug everything and only connect the power lead.
Wait for the led to flash red/green and then stay on green.
Then connect SCART and TV cables.
You might have to unplug the box again and then power it up for a second time.
When the files are being transferred from your PC to the box, the led on the box will be flashing at this speed
Don't unplug the box until until you see it flashing at this speed

I tested this on the 910 & 913 Replay Lites and it worked fine.
Originally posted by GARYJ101: i have done all of that when i connect the box and download firmware nothing is working just says connecting
what says just connecting?
do you mean when u try to update the box? U mean on the pc, it says that? Have you got the right leads? Do you establish a connection with the com port, using stblink? do you transfer the firmware to the box and does the light flash green/red very fast, before you power down and remove lead?
try a factory reset and start again - if all else fails
difficult to help, when we dont know the exact steps you have done
Quote: The only thing that works with a box that just has the red light is to force the flash.
That is to connect the null modem lead, open the stblink.
Don't do the set up com.
UNTICK maintain user data
Upgrade software and get the 742a file, this file is the one that will get the box going.
When transfer is complete,WAIT for the light to flash really quickly. exit the stblink and unplug everything.
Then only plug in the power lead, the box should come on and flash for a moment.
If this doesn't happen, just unplug it again and plug it back in again, you might have to do this a few times, some box's just take more time than others.
Then flash with 744 then 752 when you are doing this, don't try the set up com, just UNTICK the maintain user data and when each flash is finish only plug in the power lead and wait for the flashing green light.
The key is the 742a file, get that on the box and you will be fine.
You have to be patient though,
But getting the 742a file is the only way to get it working.
You may have to try this a few times after the first flash to get the green light working.
Remember only plug in the power lead after each flash and wait for the green light.
Files can be got from the Sig links at the bottom of many posts.
Good Luck!
NOT sure you need to put the 744 and 752 on - think maybe after the 742a - just then go for the new firmware just released
Quote:..........Boxes now up and running. I think the important thing to remember (and it wasn't in any instruction doc) is that the STBLINK s/w will not connect correctly for a RED LIGHT ONLY scenario. You MUST just "force" the update by ignoring the COM error.
Once again...many thanks
another thing i found - for you to note
Quote: We have come across this before on the forum, follow the instructions below and you will get the box working again.
The Red light scenario.
The reason for this can be unplugging the null modem and unplugging the power BEFORE the box can fully upgrade.
When the blocks are transferring the red/green light will flash slowly. Even after all the files are transferred by your PC WAIT until the red/green lights flash much more quickly than it did when you could visibly see the files transferring on your PC.
Only then unplug everything and exit the stb link.
Make sure the null modem lead has part number L71BT on the front of the cover.
Do not accept anything that does not have this part number.
A Null Modem Cable is required which can be purchased for ?18 from Maplins Dublin city centre or if you can wait to have it delivered you can purchase online UK for a fraction of the cost plus postage. One example of where they can be purchased online is http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-Nul...9/dp/B00006B8BJ
Go to documentation and download: Flashing the replay lite box. This will guide you through the flashing process.
Read this thoroughly before you attempt to flash the box.
Go to the software folder and download: stblink5.20.zip
This is the file that will transfer the firmware from your PC to the replay lite box.
Go to the firmware folder and download:
742a
744
752
These are the files that need to be transferred to your box from your PC via the null modem lead.
When you have all these files downloaded, you are ready to go.

if it was working before and you did the other fixes previously, then u only needed to put the latest on
do a factory reset and start again, might work - not sure
