My problem is, I was able to play SSBB when I first got it about a month ago (Backup). Played it a few times with no problems. I have recently tried to play it again and it wont work. I am able to play all other backups with no problem.

My Wii is modded with WiiKey v.1 with 1.9s update. My Wii is updated to 3.4U but had the problem with 3.3U as well. Other updates done were from Wii Music. SSBB game is a NTSC version.

Oh yeah, when I insert the disc I get sent to a black screen with the following text
"An erros has occured. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting"

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S.
I thought I was safe to do the updates, so as long as I stayed within my region.

I would say re burn it to a new disk. that should work if all of ur other backups work fine and SSBB is ur only problem then it must be a faulty disk.

Yeah it's probably the disc.

Also, if you're playing a dual layer backup, that could be very tough for your wii to read.

If you go back to 3.2U, you can play the trucha signed hacked signle layer version.

my goodness, its not the disk. This error is caused by the wii itself being pretty new to the whole dual layer disk crap. You need to clean your lens, this have happened to many of my friends and my own wii. I opened it up and just clean the lens with some lens cleaning solution or rubbing alcohol works. Then it should work like a charm.

I will try to clean the lense and see if that works.

I have tried severl other burns, at different speeds, 1x 2x and 4x. Also have tried different media, first Verbatim then Memorex and finally Dynex. The same disc that used to work wont anymore so I really doubted the media or the way I was burning was an issue but tried doing them over anyway.

As for the the game it is a single layer iso. It's not the double layer one, I am using regular 4.7 DVD-R discs.

Thanks to everyone on quick responses, like I said, will try cleaning the lense and will get back to you all.

Oh yeah, I read that some people that are having trouble with SSBB are also experiencing the same with Animal Crossing....I recently got that, so I will try that one out.

Thanks again.

*** Update
I cleaned the lense and tried more burns and nothing works for SSBB. I have about 15 other backups that do work. I am assuming that this problem is related to the latest updates. Thanks for anyones help on this. I will just sit and wait.

I have the PAL DVD9 version. Updated firmware to 3.3E through Wii Music and SSBB still works.
