My wife bought me a fat psp w/ the 4.01 m33-2 firmware. I have figured out how to back-up games/download games and play them from the memory stick without a hitch from reading up here.

Problem is: It came with a 1gb mem stick and I also have a 4gb that my wife bought. I put the games on the 4gb, however, it won't boot unless I have the 1gb in. It gets a little annoying having to swap sticks every time I turn the psp on and was wondering if there were certain files I have to copy from the 1gb to the 4gb.

Heres a good idea, Put in the 4 gb memory stick into your modded psp
then format the memory stick, before you format it take the psp game files and put them back onto your computer before you format the psp

I think I already did that, but I'll give it another try. I also haven't checked to see if it will boot without a mem stick.

well thats the only way I've seen it work, unless you want to make it into a Magick memory stick...

A format didn't change anything.

Here's what I have:

With the 4gb in, I turn it on, nothing. I can't turn it off either. If I remove the battery and put it back in, it's still on and nothing. This is the exact same with no mem stick installed.

If I remove the battery, install the 1gb stick and reinstall the battery... boom, works perfectly. At this point I can remove the 1gb and do whatever I want. I can also turn it off and on without a hitch as long as the 1gb is installed.

Right now I just basically carry around the 1gb stick to start it up.

i had a 2 gb mem stick then i bought a 4 gb one

i copied all my files exactly as they were from my 2gb one to the 4gb one then i put more stuff into the folders like videos and what not

it worked perfectly after that

before that though it still worked without the gb mem stick but before i copied the folders onto the 4 gb one i couldnt put any games on the mem stick

the 1gig is setup with a boot ipl. the battery is a pandora's battery.

any other memory stick must have the boot ipl on it, or you must flash the battery back to a normal one. but i would get a new one instead because most likely the eeprom is gone. then keep the pandora's battery for safe keeping.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Thanks. I have another battery in the closet somewhere, I'll have to dig it out.
