Swapping Hitachi drive boards?

If I have a flashed Hitachi drive (plays burnt games) and if I buy a brand new hitachi drive and swap the boards, will I still be able to play burnt games, I.E. is the flashing done on the board or something else.

if you buy a hitachi drive thats the SAME EXACT MODEL NUMBER then you can just swap the PCB boards and be fine.
