To "finalize" or not, Hope someone can help me.

I want to capture all my old home video (Taken with a analog camcorder)to my computer (To be later put on DVD)I cannot copy home video from my analog camcorder to my computer until I get another video capture card (With "RCA" inputs) so, I have a "cyberhome", home, dvd burner (With "RCA" inputs). I have used this to burn DVD's from my analog camcorder. when I've filled a dvd, It usually requires a finalization in order to be able to be played in other dvd players. My question is this: Should I "finalize" or "Make compatable" these burns being asI want to rip the videos from these dvds to my computer for use at a later time? Thanks for your time.
