Just use Nero to 'Copy Entire Disc' but without 'Quick Copy' option ticked [which is more commonly known as on-the-fly]
No need to decrypt :)

gunit2004,
Turn the CAP's off. It's considered yelling here.
(and on top of that, it's hard for the "Old Man' to read)
Thanks,
Pete

Quote: what program do you use to convert AVI to dvd and what author
MainConcept MPEG Encoder 1.4 (to encode from avi/divx/mpg etc to DVD compliant MPEG2)
TMPGEnc DVD Author (to convert from MPEG2 to VOB/BUP/IFO)
Nero 6 (to burn as DVD-Video in VIDEO_TS folder)
...is my method anyway !! [fairly quick too]

an alternate could be avi?s to mpeg?s using TMPGEne, then mpeg to vob?s, bup?s and ifo using TMPGEnc DVD Author.

You made no grammatical sense in that last comment , but at a guess you think that after attempting (and I emphasize 'attempting') one of the methods above - you think that Pete or I do NOT know what we are on about !! ?
The back up procedure is exactly the same for either disc format , and in case you didn't understand that ... THAT means that it is the same for - or + format :D

After converting AVI to VOB you do not need to burn to disc to watch , you can watch from HDD (as I know you know)
And yes , if ever you are suspicious you should check Nero DiscInfo for instance!

I didn't even know that Pakard Bell was still in business. I guess the rest of the world didn't mind computer products that didn't work as much as Americans did. I assumed that they simply went bankrupt when they closed their U.S. operations about ten years ago due to falling sales brought on by a notoriously bad track record for quality.
Glad to hear that they are still in business abroad, ensuring that won't be ask to fix any of their products here in the U.S.
By the way, you should be a little nicer to the people that are trying to help you especially with your typing skills.
So, have you tried creating an ISO of the first disc and saving it to your hard drive then using the ISO to burn a second disc?
