need some help i got given a wii for xmas with a mod chip installed but the person how got me it does not know what chip it is. what i want to know is can i update an normal online or will it mess up my mod chip. i am on 3.3e at the moment but cant go online as it keeps asking for to update

the update wont mess up your mod chip actually. but if you want to be safe use the homebrew channel install ios51 and shop channel and you should be good to go online.

So i bought guitar hero world tour on my wii and it tells me that it needs an update and it says that if the wii has any modifications it could cause the wii to brick?
