I will be living out of a hotel for the next two weeks and the internet provided by the hotel requires you to sign into their website to enter a username and password. How do I connect my Xbox to this. I have tried the following:
1. Enter the username and password in the PPPoE area.
2. Logged on with my laptop and then added my laptop MAC as the alternate MAC Address on the box.
3.I tried connecting a router but had no luck with getting connectivity.
It's going to be a long two weeks without any Xbox Live.
I also live out of hotels about %65 percent of the year. What I do is sing in with laptop and accept the terms. Then copy all items to xbox 360 such as mac, ip, dns, gateway, etc. then simply move the ethernet cable from laptop to xbox within a second or two. This works for most hotels. Some of the hotels in the eastern US will limit your bandwidth if you download/upload greater than a fixed amount determined by the network administrator. So you may find that after one or two online matches of Rainbow Six that your pings all go to red and your games lag. Signing out and back in doesn't work as your MAC has already exceeded their content limits. You must download a small program to your laptop called macspoof or something like that. THis prog allows you to change the mac of your LAN on your laptop so the hotel's network thinks its a different computer. Once you sign in again with the spoofed laptop mac then just repeat the process above. Goodluck!!!!
