Just finished downloading twilight princess today with torrents, the PAL version. Im not sure what type of wii i have,(US,NTSC-J, somethin like that?), the burning is fine,(2x speed). I run it in my wii and the title opens, i click start and it freezes on me. I use brickblocker to patch, still doesn't work. Used Regionfrii, still doesn't work. =.= wasted about 8 DVDs, (using TDK x16 -R) any help with changing ISO from PAL to NTSC will be helpful. And i have no clue what my wii's firmware is....
When I want to know about region compatibility, I go to the "Wii Region Patcher Compatibility List" website (search for it).
According to the site, the PAL version should do exactly what you said if played in a US Wii (that is, not work).
I find that a little strange, though. Why will my JPN NTSCWii play almost every PAL game after patching, but apparently no degree of patching will let a US NTSCWii play a PAL game? I'm surprised that Regionfrii doesn't work either. That might require more research. Anyway, the site suggests that there isn't any solution for now.
If you're comfortable with English, then I'd recommend you stick to your region (US NTSC). I can't read Japanese so I'm kind of forced to switch regions. It's really messy -- that's where you can risk bricking your system.
