All of a sudden my DVD backups are very slow and resulting in many coasters. When I first got my computer about 2 yrs ago I could decrypt a movie in about 10-15mins and burn in about the same time. In the last few months all of a sudden both now take 45 mins or more!
I have tried three kinds of high quality media (TY, Verbatim and Ritek) all with the same results.
I have uninstalled all programs and reinstalled them (twice) with no better results. My burner seems to work as it burns regular CDs and DVD's albeit I think slower than it used to but not sure about this.
Any ideas about what might be causing the massive slowdown and what i can do about it before i just buy another burner? REMEMBER, MY BURNER USED TO BURN JUST FINE.
Thanks in advance for the help,

But just to add if you haven't been keeping up on the regular pc maintenance like disc defrag, disc cleanup, scan disc, registry cleaner (I use ccleaner for both disc cleanup and registry cleanup), cleaning out the dust in the inside of the case, and virus scans do those too.
I am VERY good about keeping my 'puter "clean", defrag, ccleaner, washer, system mechanic etc. are used regularly.
I have reset my DMA settings (I think) and uninstalled and reinstalled all my drivers per the DMA Settings tutorial posted above.
I have TWO primary IDE Channels and one Secondary IDE channel. Does this make any difference? I can post the DMA Settings pictures if you need me to...do I have to use a photo host to post pics?
Looking at your screens shots you have a drive attached to each primary ide as master and no drives attached to the secondary ide. Hard drive looks to be on primary 1 and the burner on primary 2. So all looks good w/ the current transfer mode set correctly to a DMA mode.
