From my understanding either when KZ2 is released or shortly thereafter. I'm hoping it can be shared though, that will help spread the word...

I heard that Europe is suppose to be getting the demo at the same time as people who preordered the game in America will.

I actually do not get this - surely a demo should be used to promote the game to get people to buy it (if you've already decided to buy it then you don't need any promotion)?

I know what you mean, but that's the way the market is twisting, preorder people want benefits so they throw them a demo to make it seem like they're getting something when the company would have likely just have released it to everyone at the same time anyway.

Actually, If you want to get really specific then blame gamestop. They're the ones that get these promotions. I doubt you'll get this at walmart. Also, you can always cancle your preorder. I'm not complaining though. I have always appreciated the extra little bonuses gamestop gives you if you preorder. It keeps me coming back to them.

Yeah but my point is if there weren't the promotions would we be getting them early anyway, from the company's point of view I can't see how putting off a demo would be good unless they were getting paid from an outlet for using it like a promotion.
Like since they don't do the promo on Europe they're going to be getting the demo at the same time as the people who preordered in America or so I've heard. So are promo's like this really a good thing?

Yeah, canucker, it just seems like a scratch-the-head move. It would make sense to release a demo on PSN or something so that more people see it and want it and then actually get it. I mean... a demo's a demo. If you're pre-ordering the real deal, then you don't need a demo, because you're getting the REAL DEAL.
It does provide a little scratch to the head...
That said, not to throw this topic in a loop or anything, but does anyone else notice that the service at most Gamestops usually suck? I don't know why, but my local Gamestops always attract the most unsocial, super-jerk types of gamer nerds who care more about scoffing at game choices than helping customers. I dunno, at least that's been MY experience... there've been a grand total of two times when I actually liked the service I received, and one was because the sales clerk happened to be a friend of mine.

My local Eb Games is the same way except for this one chick. They're either totally incompetent and know nothing about gaming at all or they massively favor 1 console over the others. 1 guy who worked at my local eb games was even hiding games behind other games so that he could buy them later and no one would see them. And another guy came up behind me and started shooting off about sony and how crappy the ps3 is while I was looking at ps3 games.
And when a preorder is late they're always like too bad not our fault, totally dismissive. Walmart got rainbow six vegas 2 a few days before they finally got their pre orders in for it.
But I know the EB games that's about 45mins away from me has a great staff and they always know whats going on with everything and they've yet to screw up or be a jerk to me. It was one of the first eb games in the province so I figure it must have been started up by a gamer to start with unlike my local one that was likely started up as a money grab.

Hey Guys! Good news.
It turns out that Europe will recieve a demo PRE RELEASE! So that means anyone with a EU account could download it without having to preorder... you know.. like for DEMOnstration purposes like a DEMO is supposed to be used.. before the douches at Gamestop screwed it all up.
Here is the article: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/06/euro...rings-attached/
I used to be an assistant manager at gamestop, I could tell you things that would make you NEVER shop there again. But you could also come to this conclusion by just going there yourself.
ANYWAY.. if you dont have an EU account, just youtube how to create one. its REALLY simple and takes less than 10 minutes. Plus you can see if you actually like the game before you purchase... unlike what gamestop would have you do... which is BUY the game... and then try out the demo to a full game you already own... WTF???

Good to hear, I figured as much.
So is this a single player demo or just a multiplayer demo or both? Or do we not know yet?

Me too. But man I have gone back for more pain 2 additional times (though to be honest it actually started with Funcoland then Gamestop then EB Games)...but I worked with cool people (outside of the first Funcoland) who where for the most part not biased just had a personal preference.

I agree that what Gamestop has done is BS but you actually get to play the demo before the game comes out so you cancel your pre-order which you and I both know only takes $5.

The closed beta was the multiplayer so that would lead me to beleive it might be that, but I hope it will be BOTH single & multi with this game to REALLY grab a larger audience!
Also has anyone seen the bundle yet (for EU only right now)?

I hope that guy isn't just pulling our legs, I use to think multiplayer only demos were pretty cool but now I find you don't really get a good grasp of the game with them.

Europe gets a demo just from the Store?
Wow, Europe gets something better than the US for once.

Funny Oner. I wonder if the 80 gig Killzone PS3 package is a BC PS3 like the MGS4 bundle

HIGHLY doubtful...but imagine what that would do for sales on top of the bundle itself!

Well, I said "piss-on-it" and preordered online Friday. While I do like the little perks some stores offer for preorders, I find it quite stupid getting access to a demo of the same game and told myself that I wasn't going to support such business practices.
But, I am a sucker for a good fps, and while I vowed to pick up KZ2 from someone other than GS, the thought of playing this game early kept eating away at me.
So yes, I am a tool and I admit it. This game is just too damn good looking to pass up. Now... where's my damn code GS?

Trick you could have just made (or use) an EU account to download the beta if you REALLY didn't want to pre-order/go through GameStop ;) (I had to rub that in just a little bit)
