I have tried to intall image burn twice since I now have vista, which what I have read in the forums helps with the downloading to dvd shrink and then burning but twice it disabled dvd drive altogether. I go to computer and it won't even show that it is there.

when I had windows xp I used dvd shrink then deep burner with success most of the time. Was trying advise from Crooner7 May 23 07 from this forum. Vista is all new to me and I would really like to be able to shrink and copy a backup for newly purchased movies.

imgburn will work with vista i have been using it with vista for over a year also shrink will work with vista

then why is it that when downloading imgburn my dvd drive becomes disabled altogether? First time had to completely restore pc, 2nd time it worked after deleting imgburn. Sorry I'm blonde as well

Describe disabled....

I've been using Vista for about a year and have no issues with Imgburn, DVD Shrink or any of the usual suspects. In some instances (DVD Shrink) the program needs to be run in compatability mode.
