i mostly capture music videos and some tv shows and vhs tapes, i usally use virtual vcr but it looks like crap when i set it to anything above 352x288 it mite be my card though i have a alvero dvd ez maker card.
Just did a search to see what a "Aver dvd ez maker card" realy is, (Avero did not give anything...)
Well..... for $25 you shouldn't..... expect too much,
but you are in luck! you didn't waste too much money,
in general, forget analog capture cards,:(
Do it "the box way", best is ADVC300, it has extra
picture stabelizing features, but the ADVC100 will
also do, it captures to DV AVI, (like what comes out of a MiniDV camera) and you connect this box, to your
Firewire port, or you buy a (non Texas Instruments)cheap PCI add on card if you haven't got a Firewire
port yet.
Or buy the latest All In Wonder ATI video card (AGP)
but expect a lot more "work" to do, and less quality..
Evaluate your "need", and money you want to spend..
btw. checkout what ADVC100 users say about it,
I've one myself, and i like it...
Other brand boxes may give audio sync problems...
The Canopus products have this "locked"
