do I need it in order to upgrade my psp?

3.52 m33 4 and wanting to upgrade it to 3.71
have trouble =(

probly should have read the stickies, but cfw stands for custom firmware and it (firmware is basically the operating system of you psp) allows you to run applications and games from your ms. if you already have 3.52 m33 4 then you have custom firmware. You just need to upgrade if you want 3.71.
