well, first you didn't say you did anything. Second, I didn't look up the error code, I'm assuming you found it correctly. I thought you might have just got a bad console.

How to imbed an image
Sandwich your link to your picture between the img tags
like this

And for the ram you should try the penny fix and then let the xbox overheat a bit, i'd say up to around 150 degrees would do the trick. When i overheat gpu's i go about 15 mins which equals out about 153 degrees F on the gpu heatsink.
So do the penny fix, and use the llamma tutorial to get the box to overheat without shutting off. In theory it should work.

some of the ram pads i have seen had a pink tint to it, if thats what your refering to, they could've melted???? i find that really odd though. i would re-do the x-clamp fix, just because its been done, dosnt mean they did it right, then move on to checking out the ram if that dosnt work. heat up apply pressure/penny fix/new pads. hope this helps.

pennies inside an xbox... I know you have had success with that but why not fix it right and permanently with a professional reflow.
CARN....despite our differences I do have an intelligent question for you, just out of curiosity what temperature is your gpu reaching when the heatsink is 153.f? is that with the heatsink bolted down tight or just in place? screws or oem x-clamp? are you measuring with a non contact infrared gun or a hand held thermocouple?

You have to realize these kids won't spend the cash to get it done professionally. If you can heat up the xbox enough to reflow the solder you can probably make the xbox dependable. I measured the heatsink's side after 15 minutes of just cooling the cpu with my digital probe. The gpu heatsink was about 153-160F degrees. I do this with llammas xclamp replacement installed so the gpu gets reflowed.
I realize it would take about 422F degrees to melt the most common lead free solder. Since it works for the gpu i would figure the same procedure for the ram. In most tutorials they say 10-15 minutes while cooling the cpu. I would assume that the other side of the board would get hot enough to melt the solder.
I only measured the heatsink temp last rrod fix i did which was a week ago or so, i can't tell you if it was accurate but i would think the reading on the heatsink was somewhat close. I don't see a heatsink reaching 400 degrees. I had a infared gun when my buddy was running his talon for bracket racing a couple years ago, but i lost it one of those long nights of drinking (probably stolen)..... So eventually i'll buy another one but for right now i only have that temp probe, and it takes a good few mins to get an accurate reading.
*edit*

wow... anybody else think that could be someone trying to add rosin flux to the ram to try to reconnect the cold solder points?
Looks like burn marks to me and it looks like you're sol. I wouldn't even try repairing such a botched repair attempt. You're better off buying a rrod console from ebay than working on that box, sorry man.

wow... looks like "maybe" someone brushed all the chips with flux and put it in the oven. Flux does promote solder flow. What was the final outcome. still broken?

I'd second home's suggestion if we are voting. I even have a few xclamps and inserts he can use if he needs them.
To people without the right equipment it's a lost cause.
