The new Swedish book entitled Piraterna (The Pirates) has revealed a familiar looking front cover. The cover picture with a pirate ship logo has lead the publisher and The Pirate Bay admins to some arguments. The publisher has claimed that TPB admins are furious for stealing their logo. As always, "Its totally ok for us to steal from others or to help people in stealing from others... but when you steal from us, thats totally unfair and just unacceptable. Intellectual Property rights should be enforced!!!"

I didn't get that from this article. Sounds like the publisher misrepresented themselves and what they wanted to do. It's one thing to use someone elses name/logo etc...it's another to twist it and misrepresent it.

Down with Intellectual Property Rights!

Well everyone knows TPB logo, they (the publishers) were just using it as a pirate symbol, not realizing that everyone would assume that its just about TPB and not the whole the piracy industry.

They are saying that its mislabeled as their sole and only biography.

Yes, it could be construded as slander. atomicxl, it would be like taking a picture of you. Getting your release for the picture under false pretenses. Then writing a fictional book about you with your picture on the cover. Maybe it will go into great length describing your devient sexual behavior. Everyone not knowing you will figure it is close to the truth. It is not about stealing your picture.

Its more slander than anything else using your picture and name to defame you.
