I would like to mod my xbox. I believe it has the newest Hitachi drive, and I dont want to have to solder a modchip in it. So i was going to buy a samsung drive and put it in my xbox. Does anyone know of any complications that could come from this? is it as easy as just taking out the hitachi and putting the samsung in... or can't i do that? sorry if there are already threads on this, i searched but could not find anything

You don't need a modchip for any hitachi

To be honest i havent looked into modding much... i took it to a buddies place who has modded before and the tutorial that he had said that my hitachi needed a mod chip.

And you don't need the modchip because even if you have a 79, you can use podger's method
