so i have a modded xbox with the new xmb, so how do i load a game to the hdd? (i know you need the disk after installing the game to the hdd)

When you insert the disc press Y on the game title. There's an option to download to HDD.

Also it's NXE, not XMB. XMB is for the PSP/PS3.

when a game is loaded up go back to the dashboard then goto the "game library" section then you'll see that game listed there. Click into it and there will be an option to install to hard drive.

its kinda pointless. Its meant to decrease loading times but it would be better if you could just load games up without the disk. of course for obvious reasons the 360 will ask you for it each time :(


there was some talk of people creating like a security disk but i dont think thats going to happen.

DECREASE loading times. And there are A LOT of other benefits so it's FAR from being pointless. *sigh*

I'm well aware why .. as i SAID in my original post about loading times *rolls eyes* but 360 games aren't like ps2 games (ps2 with their massive loading times compared to games this generation) I guess i havent come across a game yet this generation that annoyed the hell outta me loading time wise. Like Dead Rising has alot of load screens. But there only 1 second maybe 2 at max it feels like. I can deal with that. Mass Effect had alot of loading screens but again as I say nothing that annoyed me.

I'd rather have the ability to load games completly off the hdd than quicker loading times

the games are running completely off the hdd already; the disc is for verification then shuts off the dvd drive. that's why only the rear fans are running.

if that wasn't implemented, then everyone can rent games and load it to the hdd.
