WiiKey 2 Config Menu problems

I just got my WiiKey 2 installed and I have the latest (v1.2) config disc. The Wii recognizes it as a GC disc and I can boot into it. It boots up to the menu where it lets me select region, drive speed, etc. My GC controller will not work in this menu at all but the reset button will. The problem is that I cannot get out of this menu to got to the disc dumper and whatever other features there are. If I select save settings, it forces me to restart the wii.

Any help getting to the main config menu would be much appreciated

Here's my current specs: FW 3.3u, D2C wii, Official GC controller (verified working with this Wii), WiiKey 2
