I've read somewhere that using low-quality blank dvds with the xbox 360 will decrease the laser length. How big, exactly, is this difference between the laser life of an xbox using low-quality dvds (Memorex) and the laser life of an xbox using high-quality dvds (verbatim).

no-one is really going to know an answer to that. but given the small price difference of memorex and verbs, you would be pretty stupid not to buy the verbs. especially when you factor in the bad burns you are going to have with the memorexs compared to the almost 100% burn rate you are going to have with the verbs. add in the frustration of the memorexs giving you dirty disc, or disc read errors, it would be wise to spend the extra money.

and if you have a sams club around or something like that, its worthwhile to check them out, because the one in my town has 50 packs for like 60 bucks.
